Summer School 2014

A summer-school program was held from 1 till 12 September 2014 for underperforming children from Grades One to Six. This program only included children from the boarding department.
Miss Hiba Sati, was given the task of helping those children academically especially with the English language. Hiba graduated from Schneller School last year. We asked her to help us in teaching English and doing other activities during the summer school. She kindly accepted.
Educators from the boarding department also organized special activities for the children to make the summer school interesting.
Schneller School sponsored this program totally at no cost to parents as they are unable to afford any fees. This was possible through a kind grant for this purpose kindly sent to JLSS by our Swiss partners SVS.
Although the duration of the summer school was short, it provided the children with a positive stimulus, two weeks before the start of the academic year. Their individual needs were addressed in a small way, propping them for a better start. Above all, their learning experience in a very small group will help them adjust better to a full class situation. From previous years we already know that the outcome of this summer program is very helpful to the children.
