Passing Away of Rev. Dr.
Hartmut Brenner
It
was with great sorrow that we received the sad news of the passing away
of Rev. Dr. Hartmut Brenner on 28/5/2020 in Germany.
Rev. Brenner was a former director of Johann Ludwig Schneller School and
Theodore Schneller School in Amman - Jordan.
He was director of JLSS during the most difficult years of the war in
Lebanon. He risked his life many times to enable the school to continue
to function through extreme hardship. He was a wonderful friend of both
schools to the last minute of his life. He served both schools through
wonderful dedication and tireless leadership. He was greatly loved and
appreciated. He loved Arab culture and the Middle East, and was a great
scholar in this field. He was very friendly with a lovely sense of
humor. When he had something difficult to say his outlook changed into a
cautious stare of serious calm until he lovingly said what he had to
say, and then very quickly, his typical friendly loud smile returned
almost instantly. He will be greatly missed. His wonderful legacy in
both Schneller Schools will always be there. We are sorry to lose a dear
friend, a staunch supporter, a wonderful leader that nothing could stop
from fulfilling his mission, and a great scholar.
Jesus said: I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in
me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me
will never die.
The Lord is risen! He is risen indeed!
