GTZ Visit to JLSS

A group from GTZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit) visited our school on Saturday 18 April 2009. The group included Dr. Michael Guder, Head of the GTZ Program in Lebanon, Dr. Klaus-Dieter Meininger, Senior Planning Officer (Economic Development and Employment - GTZ), Dr. Wilhelm Elfring (Agric. Marketing Economist), and Andrea Erdle (Economic Development and Employment - GTZ).
The group met with the director of JLSS, Rev. George D. Haddad, who expressed our school's sincere gratitude for the support it receives from GTZ. He also expressed his delight that GTZ is extending its program in Lebanon for three more years. The Dual System program for vocation training is very young, and it needs the continued support of GTZ in order to succeed. There are many challenges ahead, but with GTZ supporting vocational schools that are implementing the Dual System, they have a much better chance for success. JLSS depends on GTZ as its major source for technical know-how and curricula development for all its vocational programs. JLSS also benefits from staff training that is conducted both in Lebanon and Germany.
We highly appreciate the wonderful support we receive from GTZ and we thank the GTZ group for their visit.
